The most recent training session for the Redditch Year 5 & 6 multi-skills academy took place on Monday 22nd March at Arrow Vale High School.
The pupils, who all attend middle or primary schools in the Redditch School Sports Partnership have been working on their multi-skills in previous sessions.
They have looked at their Balance, Co-ordination and Agility, and tracked how they have been improving.
For this session, the organisers wanted to give the pupils an opportunity to try some sports that they may not have tried before. External coaches came in and ran sessions in Badminton and Squash.
As well as being given specialist coaching, the pupils were supported in the activities by leaders from the Redditch Leadership Academy.
The next session is due to take place in May and will provide opportunities to try some other sports.
By the end of this academic year, the aim is to ensure all members of the Redditch multi-skills academy are members of local sports clubs.
In early May, SSCO’s will be identifying pupils from first schools who will be invited to be a member of the Academy over the next academic year.
