Redditch School Sport Partnership has kicked off 2010 with another Sportshall Athletics Tournament. This time it was the turn of Year 7. Arrow Vale High School was the venue for the competition, and the event was supported by fantastic leaders from Arrow Vale and Kingsley College

The afternoon saw 2 separate competitions, one for the girls and one for the boys. The teams rotated around 9 activities as a school but girls and boys were scored separately. The Track events were a Fastest Lap, a Continuous 6 Lap Run, a 7 x 1 Relay and a 7 x 2 Relay. The field events were Standing Long Jump, Standing Triple Jump, Soft Javelin, Seated Weighted Shot and Speed Bounce.



It was a fantastic competition which was won by Walkwood Middle School in the boys competition, and Woodfield Middle School in the girls competition. The runners up in the boys competition were St Bede's Middle School and for the girls competition we had 3 teams tied in second place. These teams were Ridgeway Middle School, St Bede's Middle School and Walkwood Middle School.

This competition now goes onto a County event, but only one school is able to represent Redditch. The boys and girls scores were added together to mean that Walkwood Middle School were the over all winners and will go onto the county event, which is being held on Friday 5th March.
